Well the season is now over for me, this is just an overall summary of the years results and my thoughts about them.
I competed in the Australian Superstock 600 series this year which consisted of 5 rounds, unfortunately 3 of these rounds were conducted in Qld which was a bit difficult for me.
The first round was at Phillip Island in conjunction with the World Superbikes, and round 2 was held at Hidden Valley in Darwin.
I had a good first round and placed 5th overall for the weekend after a few tyre difficulties. This really set up my whole year. Round 2 was very different, I thought Phillip Island weather was crazy, not compared to Darwin. We had torrential rain and then 32 degree weather within the space of half an hour. I had a decent result and managed to place 8th for the round after not having my mechanic with me.
Round 3 was at QLD raceway I had a good weekend here and even got a top 5 finish in race 2, which I was absolutely stoked with. I finished 6th for the round. The next meeting was scheduled to be held at Broadford Victoria but unfortunately it was cancelled. This meant we had to have a double round back in QLD.
The double round at QLD did not go as planned. I qualified poorly and struggled to get up to where I should have been in the field. I was very disappointed and only had my self to blame, I finished 14th for the round.
I finished 8th overall for the season. I was very disappointed with this result as it looked more promising before the final round at Qld, but nobody’s fault but my own.
I also competed in the Victorian Superstock 600 championships and Supersport championship. The first round at Broadford raceway I had a pretty good weekend with a 1st in superstock and a 3rd in supersport for the weekend, which I was happy with.
Round 2 was at Phillip Island I had an amazing weekend and improved my personal best time by over 1.5 seconds. I finished 4th in superstock and 3rd in supersport once again.
Round 3 was held at Winton Raceway. I had another decent weekend and again lowered my personal best time by 2 seconds. Unfortunately I had a crash in the second superstock race, which put a dampner on the weekend. I finished 6th in superstock and 4th in supersport for the weekend.
My final round was held at Broadford and I was hoping for some good results. I had some great races and good battles over the weekend. I finished 2nd in superstock and also 6th in Supersport.
Overall for the series I finished 2nd in superstock, 3rd in supersport and also placed 2nd in “C” grade supersport. I was reasonably happy with these results.
Overall for the season I am reasonably happy with all my results.
I know where there could have been improvements and have that in mind for next seasons racing.
I now have a bigger adventure to undertake before the training stops. I’m off to race in the final round of the British Superbike Series in Superstock 600. I will be staying with and riding for the AP Kawasaki team in Essex, London. I am really excited about this new challenge and where it may take me.
I have to thank all my sponsors this season who have helped me out, Motorcycle Rim Stickers, Moto Track Accessories, Motorcycle Race Gear, Mornington Kawasaki, ASR Suspension, Ozzie Moto, Peninsula Ice, Emtek racing.
Also to my parents who have always supported me in every way possible. I will be forever grateful to them for encouraging me to follow my dreams.
I’ll keep you informed.
Stay safe.
Bryce
